Michael Jenkins
Michael Jenkins is Publisher of the Ecosystem Marketplace. He is the founding President of Forest Trends. Forest Trends, a Washington D.C. based non profit organization, was created in 1999 by leaders from conservation organizations, forest product firms, research groups, multilateral development banks, private investment funds, and foundations.

Katherine Hamilton
Katherine Hamilton is the Associate Director of the Ecosystem Marketplace. At the Ecosystem Marketplace, she's authored numerous pieces on carbon and water markets, as well as co-authored the book Voluntary Carbon Markets and the annual "State of the Voluntary Carbon Markets" report.

Before joining the Ecosystem Marketplace, Katherine held positions at the Yale Environmental Law and Policy Center; the United Nations Development Program as a Hixon Center for Urban Ecology Fellow; Natural Capitalism Inc. in Boulder, Colorado; and was based in Paris, France as the International Council for Science's Program Coordinator for U.N. World Summit for Sustainable Development preparations.  Katherine holds a Master of Environmental Management degree from Yale University and bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.

Steve Zwick
Steve Zwick is the Managing Editor of the Ecosystem Marketplace. Before joining the Ecosystem Marketplace, Steve was a contributing writer to the site, as well as to several other magazines and newspapers, including Time Magazine, Fortune Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal. He also hosts the current affairs program Newslink on Deutsche Welle Radio, and has been short-listed twice for the World Leadership Forum's Business Journalist of the Year Award. He attended the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Nathaniel Carroll
Nathaniel is Biodiversity Market Advisor to the Ecosystem Marketplace and Forest Trends. He has been with Forest Trends since early in the development of the Ecosystem Marketplace and has also worked as biodiversity project manager of the Ecosystem Marketplace and project lead for Forest Trends' Business Development Facility. He has also spent time in an advisory role with MMA Sustainable Land Investments.

Before joining Forest Trends, Nathaniel worked as a consultant for a private forestry and real estate company in Panama, channeling private investment to restore degraded lands and generate profit from native species forestry. Nathaniel spent two years with Conservation International's Center for Applied Biodiversity Science, one with their Rapid Assessment Program and one with their Conservation Tools Program. He has over three years experience conducting ecological research, from the Rocky Mountains to Andes, from the Northwest Hawaiian Islands to the Penobscot Bay.

Nathaniel holds a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University and a Master's in Forest Science from Yale University. Nathaniel is based in Portland, Oregon.

Tracy Stanton
Tracy Stanton is the Water Program Manager of the Ecosystem Marketplace. Her work focuses on expanding the coverage of water issues. Recently, she worked as a consultant for the National Academy of Public Administration where she collaborated on an assessment of US EPA's delivery of environmental services using the Chesapeake Bay watershed as a learning platform. From 1995-2003, Tracy worked at the University of Maryland in the School of Public Policy and Center for International Economics developing programs aimed at improving the effectiveness of government policies and programs in the environment and financial management arenas. She holds a masters degree in Public and Environmental Policy from the University of Maryland and a BA from The Ohio State University.

Carl Lucero
Carl is currently on detail from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and serving as the Senior Water Fellow at Forest Trends and the Ecosystem Marketplace, providing guidance and direction in the development of water quality markets. At NRCS, Carl guides the agency on water quality issues as the National Leader for Clean Water. He also leads the USDA effort on market based conservation, as part of which he developed the USDA Policy on Market Based Approaches and drafted a new element on Market Based Conservation for the 2008 Farm Bill. Carl graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He is currently working on a Masters degree in Public Administration through American University.

Allison Shapiro
Allison Shapiro is a Program Associate with the Carbon Markets Program of the Ecosystem Marketplace. Prior to joining the Ecosystem Marketplace, she worked at ICF International, where she worked on various environmental consulting projects including environmental impact assessments. Allison graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service with a BS in Science, Technology, and International Affairs and a concentration in Environmental Studies. While an undergraduate, she co-founded Georgetown's sustainability committee, participated in a field study of former Mayan wetlands in Belize, and worked as an intern at the parent organization of Ecosystem Marketplace, Forest Trends. Allison speaks Spanish and English.

Deborah McKay
Deborah is the Director of Operations for Forest Trends and the Ecosystem Marketplace. Deborah's role includes overseeing the financial reporting and budget process as well as assisting in fundraising. Deborah most recently worked for the World Bank in the office of the Italian Executive Director. Prior to working at the Bank she managed stores for The Timberland Company and ran a commercial department for United Colors of Benetton in Washington, D.C. She speaks Portuguese and Italian fluently and Spanish and French proficiently. Deborah holds a BA in History from the University of São Paulo in São Paulo, Brazil.

Bryan Straathof
Bryan Straathof is the Director of Finance for Forest Trends.  He has 15 years of financial management experience supporting international development programs, working in both the non-profit and governmental sectors.  While serving at the Peace Corps, he supported programs throughout Europe, the Mediterranean, and Asia, including as Peace Corps budget manager, responsible for overseeing one-third of the Agency's annual budget.  Prior to joining Forest Trends, Bryan served as director of finance for two non-profit organizations, first the Citizens Development Corps, and then the National Cooperative Business Association/CLUSA.  Bryan earned his Certified Public Accountant and his Bachelor's Degree of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland.

Becca Madsen
Becca Madsen is the Biodiversity Program Manager at Ecosystem Marketplace. Prior to joining Ecosystem Marketplace, she was a Presidential Management Fellow with the US Forest Service. During her fellowship, Becca gained expertise in environmental markets by informing mitigation banking business proposals while on loan to Environmental Banc & Exchange, serving as a pivotal team member in the Bay Bank project, and analyzing demand for water quality trading. Becca completed a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, where she was selected as a Doris Duke Conservation Fellow. Before attending graduate school, she served as a small business volunteer with the Peace Corps in Mali and worked on water quality and land conservation issues in city government in Texas.
